The Psychology Course Credit Participant Pool gives students who are taking particular Psychology courses the opportunity to participate in experiments outside of the classroom. (Not all Psychology courses provide this opportunity. Ask your instructor about your course). Participating in the Psychology Course Credit Participant Pool is meant to be an educational experience during which students will learn about how psychological research is conducted. All studies are in accordance with the ethical procedures established by the University Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Psychology Department's Human Subjects Committee (HSC).
You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the Course Credit Pool studies. If you are under-18, complete the Under-18 Alternative Assignment instead (see below). Questions may be directed to the Participant Pool Coordinator (psych-subjects@illinois.edu) or your Psychology course instructor.
