Two of our invaluable members of the psychology department were recently recognized for their contributions by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Firmino Pinto receives the Academic Professional Award.
Firmino has worked as a research engineer with us since 1997. He provides a wide range of technology support to the department—everything from troubleshooting software to developing custom instruments for faculty research and facilitating the rapid transition to remote teaching and learning during the pandemic. Whenever an issue needs to be resolved, you can count on him to go the extra mile with a smile. His experience and friendly demeanor are treasured assets in the building.
Brenda Reinhold receives the Staff Award.
Brenda leads our procurement team and ensures faculty, staff, and students can obtain the necessary equipment and supplies to conduct research. Recently, she led the implementation of a portal to improve the department’s procurement processes. We all appreciate Brenda’s ability to simultaneously keep track of multiple orders, tasks, and projects. Her attention to detail, organization, and poise help us all feel at ease when we flood her with a million questions at the wire.
Firmino and Brenda will be honored at a ceremony in March.
